CLUB FUNDRAISER
We would ike to remind everyone that we will have a fundraising bagpack in Tesco, Greystones on Fri 22nd Apr. & Sat 23rd Apr. 2016. We will be packing from 11am - 7 pm Fri & from 10 am – 6pm on Sat.
A great deal of help will be needed for this fund-raising event, so all athletes from age 16 upwards & all parents are asked to try to come along and cover a shift or two. We will break the days up into 2 hr shifts and if we get a good response, then nobody will have to put in too much time. Please contact Christina on 0871459959 and let her know what time/times you will be available to help out, so that she can put together a plan to ensure we have sufficient cover throughout both days. The proceeds from this event will benefit all members of our athletic club, so please help out if at all possible. It's not fair to always leave the effort to the same small group of people, who already do so much for our club!
AWARDS NIGHT
Our club awards night for 2015 will be held in Greystones Tennis Club on Thurs. 21st Apr. at 7pm. This will take a similar format to previous years, where athletes get certificates for Attendance, Attitude & Achievement, with those who achieve all three getting an added award. There will also be 5yr, 10yr & 15 yr membership awards, team awards & our Athlete of the Year. Light refreshments will be served afterwards with some treats for the athletes. This is a great opportunity to come along and meet our volunteers and maybe have a chat with the people who coach your child each week.
ATTENDANCE TRIP
We are presently working on arranging our annual club day trip for athletes with 60% plus attendance in 2015. Attendances have been added up and the list of those eligible to attend should be available at the Awards night, along with details of the trip. These will also be posted on our website, once finalised.
ATTENDANCE AT TRAINING
All athletes are expected to attend training on a regular basis with those in Groups 1 & 2 having made a commitment to attend at least two sessions per week. A number of athletes have had very poor attendance recently and should note the club rule, 'Athletes who don't attend for three weeks or more without contacting us are deemed to have left the club'. Places are then given to those on our waiting list & those who wish to return will have to go back on to this list.

The annual GAC/IMC T&F event will take place in Greystones on Saturday afternoon 30th Apr. This has quickly become a very successful event at which National records have been set & qualifying times achieved for International competitions. It is well worth coming along to view & is a great opportunity to see some of our club Junior & Senior athletes compete with the best in the country.
CLUB SHOP
The club shop will be open on Tues. 4th Apr. from 6.30-7.30pm only, for singlets, shorts, T-shirts, hoodies, rainjackets etc. We also have some 2nd hand spikes available & club pens. If you didn't manage to get one of our club calendars, they are still available and now at a reduced price. Please note that all athletes competing at Leinster events must wear a club singlet!
URGENT APPEAL FOR HELP
We are still very short on coaches for the Tues 6-7pm slot, so we are again making an urgent appeal to anyone who is free to help out for 1 hour on Tues to please contact Theresa @ 0868635797. Even an hour every second week would be a great help, if we could get people to share. We will ensure you get some basic training and won't just drop you in at the deep end! Unfortunately, if we don't get some help, we will not be able to continue with all of our present groups!
We are also looking for some extra coaches for the 7-8.30pm sessions on Tues/Fri if anyone is available to help out.
ADULT RUNNING
Our Beginner2Winner group starts a new 6 week programme this week, with sessions on Mon/Wed at 6pm and we hope to see lots of new faces coming along.
Don’t forget that our regular established Fit4Life sessions will continue as normal Mon/Wed at 8.30pm & Wed/Fri at 10am. All these are run in conjunction with Shoreline Sports Park, so you don’t have to be a club member to take part.
We're delighted to announce that our road run is back for the past few weeks. It now takes place on Monday evenings at 8.30pm and we say a big Thank You to Caoimhin MacMaolain who is looking after this for us. The group meet at the track and do a run around Greystones and all level & abilities will be catered for. We hope to see lots of additional runners coming along to join this group and help grow the adult section of our club. This one is for club members only, as is the Sunday morning run, but you are welcome to come along for a trial session before joining. Sunday run venues are posted on our web page & Facebook page each week!
