EXCITING NEWS
Our Junior Girls (as part of Slí Cualann) have been selected to take part in the European Clubs Track and Field Junior B competition, to take place in Portugal on the 19th September 2015. This
selection is as a result of their performance in 2014 and is a great honour for our athletes and we are very proud indeed to accept the offer. While some of our costs will be covered, we will
need to fundraise to help towards flights and other expenses. As our first fundraiser, we will be providing stewards (age 17-adult) for the Sonia 5K on Sat. next in Dunlaoghaire. You will be
needed for a maximum of two hours from 6.30-8.30pm and the club will be paid for each steward we provide. Please let us know asap if you can help out with this event and start the ball rolling
towards our much needed funds! We really need your help with this!
OVERDUE SUBS
A number of athletes owe money to the club for unpaid weekly subs. We do remind the athletes about this at check-in, but get little response. We would appreciate it if parents could check this
with us and pay off these debts asap. It is easy to forget that you missed some weeks, but unfair on the athletes who always pay if others don’t and it all adds up to quite a bit.
SUMMER BREAK FOR YOUNGER ATHLETES
We will take a break from training for the summer for the age 5-6 & age 7-11groups (ie 5-6pm and 6-7pm), finishing up with a fun evening on Fri 30th June. Already the numbers have dropped off
a lot, particularly on Fri evenings, so there is little point in trying to carry on. U12 Athletes competing in the National B Championships on Saturday 18th July may attend the later training
sessions. We will return on Tues.8th Sept., which allows a week to settle back in to school first. Please note that the older groups which train from 7-8.30pm will continue throughout the
summer, as we have a lot of competition during this time. We will take a short break in August before returning on Tues. 1st Sept. to prepare for the XC season.
AWARDS/REGISTRATION CARDS
We gave out a number of the registration cards and the awards and medals on Tues 2nd June, but there are still a lot not collected. If anyone is available to help for an hour on a
Tues evening we could try once more. Athletes may collect their awards themselves, but the registration cards are addressed to the parents, so we cannot give them to the athletes. Athletes are
now being issued with Life Registration cards and won’t be getting replacements every year. This is the number that will be used for all your future entries. Not all cards have arrived yet.
WEBTEXT MESSAGES
Information texts are sent out fairly regularly by the club. It is fine to reply to this number if you are just confirming something. However, if you have a question that requires an answer that
day, please text Theresa directly on 0868635797, as a lot of the time I am not in a position to answer webtext replies. This msg. has been sent out on several previous occasions, but the number
is still being used a lot for queries!
