Fantastic running from all our GAC athletes this weekend in Athlone with great results on Saturday from the Leinster Indoor Relays in Athlone. Gold medals all round for our U18 girls, Alannah O’Carroll, Isobel Kenny, Rosa Kirwan & Ara Freeman, U16 boys, Josh Pyper, Noah Daly, Louis Lalor & Ben Mooney & U15 boys, Josh Pyper, Aodhan Daly, John O’Connor & Ben Mooney. Silver for our U17 girls, Alannah O’Carroll, Richael Browne, Niamh Conroy & Alana Ryan  & U13 boys, James Nicholson, Joe Prendergast, Danny Jones & Michael O’Shea, with 4th place finishes for U16 girls, Katie Lawless, Rachel Purcell, Niamh Conroy & Alana Ryan & U14 boys, Aodhan Daly, Ronan Dempsey, Joe Dowd, Alan Gordon & James Nicholson.. Fantastic running from Cillian Browne finishing 3rd in the U19 1500m, Richael Browne finishing 3rd in the U17 1500m & Sophie Nicholson finishing 4th in the U15 800m!

Sunday proved to be another fantastic day for our club athletes competing for Slí Cualann at the Leinster Juniors. Following on from yesterday's great results, brother & sister Cillian & Richael Browne went for gold today ,with Cillian winning the Junior 3K & Richael winning the 800m. Gold too for Amaris Borel in the 60m Hurdles, and Amaris also had a Season's Best in the 400m. Gold again for Ara Freeman in the 60m with a new Leinster Championship Best Performance and Ara also had a fourth place finish in the 200m. Silver medals for Susie McParland in her first track 3K and for Conor Dempsey in the 400m, a Bronze medal for Rosa Kirwan in the High Jump and another new 800m PB for Katy Conroy! Well done to all our athletes and congratulations to team mate & training partner Tim Grummell on his gold in the Senior 1500m and to Terry Kavanagh with Silver medals in the Masters 400m & 800m. What a top weekend's competition it has been!
