NEWSLETTER 2015
Normal service resumes this week and we welcome back all those we haven’t seen since before Xmas. We hope you all had a great time and wish everyone a Happy New Year! Small numbers at the
sessions and runs over the holidays, but well done to those who put the effort in, it will pay dividends at the upcoming competitions!
AWARD WINNERS
Once again Greystones AC athletes are the recipients of both County & Provincial awards, with club athletes winning 3 of the 4 Juvenile awards & both Junior awards in Wicklow and all 3
awards in Leinster for 2014. Congratulations go to Alana Ryan & Ben Jones for the U14-16 section, Cillian Browne for the U16-19 section & Amaris Borel & Padraig Lennon for the Junior
section in Wicklow and to Amaris Borel & Conor Dempsey for the Leinster Juvenile awards & David Coyle for the Senior award. The Leinster Awards will be presented this Sat 10th Jan in
Carlow and the Wicklow Awards will be presented in Wicklow town on Fri. 16th Jan. Fit4Life prizes will also be presented that night and club members are welcome to come along and support our many
winners!
REGISTRATIONS FOR 2015…………..VERY IMPORTANT!
All club athletes now need to renew their registration/insurance for 2015. Registrations will take place at training times for one week only and any athletes not registered at
the end of that week can no longer be admitted to the track, as they will not be covered by insurance. Club committee members will accept registrations in the room behind the reception area on
Tues 20th Jan. Wed 21th Jan & Fri 23rd Jan. during training times only. Adult registrations can be accepted at Fit4Life training times. Please do not leave registration forms/fees in to the
Sports Park Reception at other times as they can not be accepted by the staff. Neither can they be accepted by the coaches on the track. In an effort to get all records up to date again, we will
be asking members to fill out a new club form this year. These forms will be available at registration, but can be downloaded from our website, or collected at check-in next week, if you want to
have it ready in advance and avoid long delays. Up to U19’s need to fill the Juvenile form and Parents/Guardians must sign the form at the back, but please do not sign your child’s name. If your
child is too young to sign, just leave that line blank. Athletes born 1996 and before should use the adult form. We would really appreciate it if anyone who’s details haven’t changed, would
indicate this on their form. It will save a great deal of time double checking everything. Fees remain the same as previous years, €30 for 1, €50 for 2, €70 for 3 & €90 for 4 or more family
members. Overdue weekly subs. should also be paid off at this time, as we want everyone starting 2015 with a clean slate please.

your events and availability for relays. Teams + subs will be sorted asap.
We also have to arrange our Sportshall event, which is always very popular with the younger athletes and always a fun day. Details will follow asap!
HELP NEEDED
Once again we have to appeal for help at the 6-7pm sessions. We have big groups at these sessions and have lost two coaches recently due to family circumstances. If any adults are available to
help out, it would be greatly appreciated. We promise not to throw you in at the deep end and we will get you on to a coaching course asap. If you can help out, even a little, please let us
know.
We remind you all once again that we train in all weathers, hail, rain or snow. In the very unlikely event that we should ever have to cancel training or an event at short notice, a
webtext msg. will be sent to all members/parents! Please ensure that you/your child always brings warm clothing and a waterproof jacket to training. While we may very occasionally have access to
indoor facilities, we are generally outdoors regardless of the weather, so come prepared for this! On wet nights, gear bags with your change of clothes can be left in the changing rooms at the
sports centre.
