GREYSTONES AC/IRISH MILERS CLUB MEET
We had a fantastic event on the track on Saturday 26th May in conjunction with the IMC. , with a wealth of top class athletes competing, terrific racing, superb times, loads of PB's and even a new Irish Record! Huge congrats to our local hero's who performed so well!
Well done to our club athletes who ran superbly on the day: Jamie Cullen set a massive new PB in the 800m with a fantastic 1.58, while Eoin Taggart ran a terrific 4.15 in the 1500m and Dylan Grimes Larkin a 4.55, Padraig Lennon ran a 7.09 in his first 2K Steeplechase. The four lads were a credit to the club and were on the road at 7.30am the following morning headed for the relays in Tullamore where they finished second in the 4 x 400m relay….......no stopping them!
Congrats also to Richie Owens who also ran a huge PB in the 1500m 3.58 and to Cathal Daly 1.54 and Tim Grummel 2.03 in the 800m. Great running from all the lads!
RELAYS
Leinster relays on Sunday and some more top results for our club. U18 boys Jamie Cullen, Dylan Grimes Larkin, Eoin Taggart & Padraig Lennon followed Saturday’s great running with another tremendous display in the 4 x 400m, challenging Enniscorthy all the way to the line and finishing in Silver medal position. U19 girls Lynda Earls, Aisling McCabe, Zoe Lematy, Aoife Conroy took gold in the 4 x 400m & Amy Howard joined Lynda, Aoife & Zoe in the 4 x 100m to take bronze. At U18 Zoe Lynda & Amy were joined by Aisling Moore in the 4 x 100m and Amy, Aoife and both Aislings made up the 4 x 400m team, with the girls taking silver in both events. Our U15 team, Isabel Kenny, Rosa Kirwan, Sadhbh Redford & Richael Browne were 4th in their 4 x 100m. We had our usual fantastic racing at U14 level with the girls once again taking gold & silver medals in a tremendous race to the line. Teams were Sinead O'Neill, Rebecca Murphy, Lisa Dallaghan, Hilary Gallagher & Richael Browne, Alannah O'Carroll, Alison Dawson Whelan, Alannah Ryan. Bronze medals for our U13 girls Sophie Nicholson, Alannah Ryan, Sinead Mahon, Eve Berney, Grace Kirwan. U10 girls Maya Scott, Ellen McNally, Emma Quirk and Nell Berney finished 6th in their final and U11 boys Michael O'Shea, Alan Gordan, Joe Dowd, Jay Cafolla, Ronan Dempsey finished 5th in theirs. Congratulations to all the athletes who competed today!
Over in the UK Pippa Rogan won the HJ with a jump of 1m70 and finished 4th in the LJ with a new PB of 5m. Well done Pippa!
COMBINED EVENTS
Sunday 20th saw Greystones host the Leinster Combined events, with athletes competing in a number of events and accumulating scores. Greystones AC had a small number of athletes competing and medals went to Alison Dawson Whelan 3rd in the U14 girls, Conor Dempsey 2nd in the U15 boys and Aisling Moore 3rd in the U17 girls. Some fine performances from other club athletes also on the day! Well done to all.
FIT4LIFE  LEAGUE
Round 5 was a 5K race in Wicklow tow last Thurs evening and our club was well represented by Jackie Patrick, Michelle Mooney, Maria Byrne, Nicola Creen, Carol Costello, Clare Ryan, AJ Cotter & Paul Byrne, with Jackie and Nicola finishing in the prizes. Well done to all!
CLUB SHORTS
We are delighted to announce that the long awaited club shorts for girls have arrived. We only have Xsmall and Med at present as the small are out of stock. These will retail at €19.
LUCOZADE SPORT CAPS
We are still looking for Lucozade Sport bottle caps to help our club. Please drop them into the box at reception down at the track! Come on guys, start collecting, if we win, this money will be spent to make a better club for all of you!
UPCOMING COMPETITIONS
Entries are now due for the U9/10/11 pairs competition (2 events each) and the U12 championships ( 3 events each).
Athletes who want to compete in the pairs should send entries to Theresa immediately with 3 choices of event in order of preference. We will try to give you your top 2, but this may not always be possible as athletes are paired for this event. Last date for entries is Wed. night 30th May. U12 athletes can compete in any 3 events of their choice: 60m, 600m, HJ, LJ, SP, BT and 60m hurdles. Please note that the hurdles event does not go through to National.

 Round 1 of the League, Sun 10th June.( U17’s up)
