CLUB FUNDRAISER

The club will be holding our annual fund-raising 5K race on Sun 1st May at 12 o’clock. This year the race is open to men as well as women and we will be adding a childrens race as well. Check-in, results, refreshments etc will be done from Shoreline Leisure centre. We would hope that as many as possible will take part and that you will all encourage family members to come along and take part as well. You can run, jog, walk or even push a buggy…….. just come along and support us. Medal & T-shirt to all finishers, refreshments afterwards and lots of Spotprizes!

If you can’t run or walk the course, then please come along and give a hand on the day. We will need lots of marshals, help with the teas and a host of other jobs. Please text your name to Theresa (0868635797) if you can help in any way.

Cakes, sandwiches, biscuits etc. will be needed on the day and all donations will be very welcome!

CLUB SHOP

The club shop will be open on the 1st Tues of each month in the room behind the reception area at the track. It will be open from 6.30pm to 7.30 pm approx. We have singlets, shorts, t-shirts, hoodies, jackets, tracksuit bottoms and rain gear in most sizes. We have a couple of pairs of second hand spikes in stock also and one new pair. Next shop day will be Tues 3rd May. This is your last chance to get singlets, shorts or T-shirts before the championships

REGISTRATION CARDS

The 2011 registration cards have arrived. The club usually holds on to these for safe keeping, but this year the card entitles the holder to a 10% discount on purchases at Woodie’s, so we will be giving them to the athletes at training. You will need to keep this card safely as it may be required during the year. If you only paid your registration very recently, your card may not have arrived yet.

In conjunction with Shoreline Sports park, we will be starting a new “Little Athletics” programme for 5-6yr olds on Tues evenings from 5-6pm. Places will be limited, so get names down asap. SPECIAL COACHING SESSION

Our Club is very lucky to have a large number of National and International athletes on our books. Several of these athletes have agreed to give up their time on Good Friday 22nd April to pass on some of their expertise to their younger club mates. We have arranged use of the track from 11.30am to 2pm and a special coaching session will take place for athletes from 11 to 14 yrs old. (Born 1997 to 2000).

To allow athletes get the very best from this event, places will be limited and will be on a first come, first served basis. If you are interested, please fill in the form below and return asap with €5 to help cover costs for the day. Please mark choices in order of preference. We will do our best to give you your preferred events, but this may not be possible if too many apply for the same events.

Events covered are: Sprints (blocks & drills mostly), hurdles, high jump, long jump, javelin, discus, shot putt

This is a great chance for athletes to develope their skills or perhaps try something new!
