Congratulations to the athletes who competed in the All Ireland indoors, in Nenagh on Sat/Sun 10th /11th Apr. It was another great weekend of competition and once again there were top results for our club.
At U18, Caoimhe Basquille started the day off well by retaining her National title in the HJ. The U19 girls were also on form once again and, in an exact replica of the 1500m two weeks earlier, the girls finished 1st, 3rd and 4th in the 800m, with Niamh Kearney collecting her second national title, Ellie Hartnett finishing 3rd and Aisling McGee 4th. Second place was taken by Claire Earls of Inbhear Dee to make it another 1,2,3,4 for the Co. Wicklow girls. Ferdia Kenny, despite rugby duties, put in a fine performance to take the bronze medal in the 200m. Claire Fox had a good run in the U17 800m to finish 6th. On the Sun. Our boys U13 were very unlucky not the make the final. After winning their heat comfortably in 57.34, they missed out on a place in the final by just 0.24 secs.
The new Code of Conduct form will be issued to all our athletes, coaches and officers during the coming weeks. This outlines what we as coaches and club officers expect of our athletes and what you as athletes can expect of us. Please read this carefully and return the signed declaration (third page) to training ASAP. A club officer will sign it and give you a copy. Forms for athletes under 21 will require a parent’s signature as well.
We have re-scheduled the AGM for Thurs.6th May at 8 pm in the Charlesland centre. We will have a brief review of the club at present and how we hope to progress in the coming years. All ideas and suggestions will be very welcome. If you would like anything added to the agenda, please let us know asap. We will also need to elect a new committee. We would appreciate if anyone who is prepared to stay on the committee or come on to it would let us know before the meeting, if possible, however nominations will be taken from the floor. We are also looking for more people to help out at training, so if anyone is available and willing to lend a hand, particularly at the 6-7pm sessions, please let us know. Suitable training will be arranged.

Entries for all Leinster events will need to be in two weeks before the event…….no late entries.
The Reasons to Run Women’s 5K is a fundraising event for our club. We will need lots of help on the day of the race and lots of runners. We would love to see all the ladies out taking part, so ask your mum, sister, granny, aunt, cousin and anyone else you can think of to come along and support the club and ask dads, grandads and brothers to help out on the day. This was a great event last year, but we were very short on helpers. We will only need you for about 2 hours max. The event starts and finishes at Shoreline Pool and there will be refreshments afterwards in the hall. There are T-shirts for all finishers, cash prizes and lots of spot prizes.
