Wicklow Star Awards

A great night was had by all who attended the Wicklow County Star Awards last Friday. We would like to thank all those who provided the lovely sandwiches and cakes on the night and the Boylans for the great venue. Congratulations to all our award winners:

Caoimhe Basquille -Girls U16-19 award, Niamh Kearney and Patrick Costello - Junior awards and Sean Ryder . These four athletes also received awards as members of the junior squad who won the Leinster Dew Shield, along with Ellie Hartnett, Aisling McGee, Laura Boylan, Isabel Malley, Kellie Ryder, Cormac Hanlon and Ciaran Brady. AJ Cotter,one of our senior members, won 2^nd place in his category of the Fit4Life league and the club won the overall Track & Field award for 2009.

Up-coming events

·        Very few athletes put their names forward for the indoor relays next weekend, but we will have a few teams there. We wish them luck along with our juniors and seniors, who will also be competing.

·        The juvenile indoors will be held on Sat/Sun 27^th/28^th Feb. Very few have given their names for staying over for the weekend. Anyone who wants to be included in this should give their names to Theresa immediately as we need to book the accommodation now. You can make your own travel arrangements if you prefer. Both events are open to athletes from U12 up. No late entries accepted.

·        The ‘B’ cross country will be held in Roscommon on Sun.21^stFeb. Teams from U11 up and it’s last years age groups. Names at training please

Registration

Registration and Insurance is now due for 2010. To keep up with rising costs, we will be increasing the fees to €25 for one , €45 for two and €65 for three or more family members.

The weekly contribution of €2 will remain the same. Registrations will be taken before training each night, this week. We will be asking everyone to fill out a new form as we want to update contact nos. and e-mail address in order to improve communication. All registrations need to be done before the end of Jan to renew our insurance cover.

Don’t forget we have a club shop on the first Tues of every month.
