Day 2 of the Leinster Cross Country, the uneven ages and intermediate, was held in Tullamore last Sunday in bright sunshine. Once again we struggled to field teams in most age groups, only managing to get 3 full teams out.
The U11 girls were first away and all ran really well with Alison Dawson Whelan having a superb race to finish in 11th and earn a place on the Leinster team for the All Ireland’s. She was supported by a great team with Sinead O’Neill 39th , Lisa Dallaghan 44th, Rebecca Murphy 45th , Susie McParland 71st , Richael Browne 80th, Aoife McDonell 119th. Rachel Whitten 136th, Zoe Kerr 137th. The girls were 4th club team and Alison, Sinead, Lisa, Rebecca, Susie & Richael will go forward to the All Ireland’s in Coleraine on Dec 6th. If any of you are not available, please let Theresa know before the end of this week. Unfortunately only three of the U11 boys made it to the start line, all three ran well with Cian Baldwin finishing a fine 16th, Eric Dalby 72nd and Daniel Pluck 106th.
Only two of the U13 team turned up and both were stepping up an age group. Rosa Kirwan finished 62nd with Anna Hayes 109th. Another depleted team in the boys U13, with only 5 runners turning out. Scott Howard stepped up an age and had another great race to finish 43rd,with Cillian Browne 56th, Luke Donoghue 68th, Conor Dempsey 81st and Lorcan Lalor 101st.
Another incomplete team in the girls U15 with Amy Howard 40th, Aisling McCabe 47th and Isobel O’Grady 77th.
Claire Fox stepped up an age in the girls U17 where she ran a fantastic race to finish a very close second. She too will compete in Coleraine.
We got a full team out in the girls U19 and they did us proud as always. Niamh Kearney finishing 2nd again this week, with Ellie Hartnett 5th, Aisling McGee having a great race in 9th and Laura Boylan 15th. The girls were 2nd club and 1st county team and will all compete in Coleraine, with Niamh, Ellie and Aisling representing Leinster as well as Wicklow and Greystones. Well done to all the athletes who made it to the line.
We would appreciate a call from those who are not going to make it on the day.

Newsletters and Web-site
A reminder that regular newsletters are posted on the web site www.greystonesac.com and there are lots of photos from the cross countries, if you click on the Photo Gallery.
As a lot of people don’t seem to be checking the web site, I will issue a paper newsletter once a month with details of up-coming events etc. We will continue to publish competition results, photos and weekly updates on the site, so keep checking. If anyone wants to send photos (please reduce the size) we will be happy to put them up.
